It appears to me that fetchmail is not
interacting with comcast's pop service
as expected. The usual list pop clients
work fine to delete read messages from the server,
but fetchmail-6.2.5.5-1.fc4 fails to do this.
One of the local imap mail accounts
on a server that I manage
has been popping mail from mail.comcast.com
with a fetchmail crontab entry,
and over the past week we have seen a huge
number of duplicate messages.
The users inbox as 800Mb last Monday.
The crontab entry is
50 1 * * * fetchmail --flush --nokeep -s -d 900
and the .fetchmailrc file is
# Configuration created Fri Jan 24 15:48:12 2003 by fetchmailconf
set postmaster "this-is-me"
set bouncemail
set no spambounce
set properties ""
poll mxxxxxx.usuhs.mil with proto POP3
user 'hidden' there with password 'hidden' is
'hidden(_at_)hidden(_dot_)usuhs(_dot_)mil' here
smtphost hidden.usuhs.mil
poll mail.comcast.net with proto POP3
user 'hidden.hidden' there with password 'hidden' is
'hidden(_at_)hidden(_dot_)usuhs(_dot_)mil' here
Anyone?
Best Regards,
Bob
