On Friday, the machine thumper.bellcore.com suffered a major disk crash
and lost its anonymous ftp area. Unfortunately, when it was restored
from backup, it was restored with a version from June, 1991.
If you or anyone you know retrieved a copy of the MIME spec from thumper
during the following 48 hours, you have a VERY out-of-date version of
it. The latest version is dated March, 1992, and is now once again
available. (The Internet-Drafts directories, of course, were not
affected.)
