I'd like to see it in a separate RFC so that if it needs to evolve,
it can do so on its own without forcing a revision of the base MIME RFC.
This is only a slight preference and can be ignored.

Henry Spencer has said he is drafting a son-of-1036 for USENET news.
The discussions relating to that appear to be on USENET in comp.std.interneat
by default (in case anyone here is interested and wasn't aware of that).
If I understand Henry correctly, he is looking at MIME for use in son-of-1036.

It is curious to me to see the same bogon arguments about "just send 8-bits"
and "we don't need any new headers, just send ISO-8859-1" appear there. :-)
