It is always best to do this, of course. This should be pointed out to the IESG
as something the Society should look into. The use of PostScript and GIF
transcends MIME by a considerable degree, so this is probably a good idea in
any case.

Since I've seem symptoms of MIME-interest among CompuServe members and
professional staff, it seems to me that they would be quite receptive to
an inquiry/request for permission from ISoc, especially one that
endorses their standard in a way that contributes to its greater glory.

If, as I suspect is the case, someone from CompuServe staff is reading
this, it is probaby the case that a great deal of wasted time could be
avoided by your getting a formal suggestion to IESG about what sort of
language you would like.
