Is anybody aware of whether Internet messaging working group has looked at
support of EDI? We'd appreciate feedback or references in case you have
knowledge on the viability of running EDI over FTP (and bypassed X.400) or
appending an EDI to a MIME message.
The viability is very high -- I know of no reason why we couldn't have a
MIME type called something like "application/edi", but so far (to my
knowledge) nobody with sufficient EDI expertise has written up the
necessary definition & registered it with IANA, which is probably all
that is necessary. -- Nathaniel
