do we have an argument for allowing the "-" character in the
subtag, and extending the maximum length to a lot more than 8 chars?
I *would* prefer to keep things simple at this point, and let
the actual registrations seen at IANA govern future development,
but this seems to be something worthwhile.
My model would be that, once this goes through, *you* register iana-art
and iana-hum, and anything else you like.
Meanwhile, samiskhs.no (the Sami institute of higher education in Norway)
would register iana-sami, iana-sami-south, iana-sami-north and so on.
We could all have a nice get-together about further developments in
6 months, when it is Draft Standard time....
