If the intended destination for replies is the first ISP, I have to type
"+party-4-july". If the second, I have to type "-party_4_july" or some
other permutation.
Oh, c'mon, surely you can imagine a better user interface than that.
You configure your three ISPs into the MUA, following ISP instructions:
SMTP: 1.2.3.4
user: schaefer
separator: +
domain: isp1.net
SMTP: 5.6.7.8
user: schaefer
separator: -
domain: isp2.net
SMTP: 9.10.11.12
user: bs
domain: isp3.net
Now the MUA gives you a ``subaddress'' box with either ISP 1 or ISP 2.
You can type ``party-4-july'' either way.
With ISP 3, since you didn't configure a separator, the MUA tells you
that subaddressing isn't supported.
