Re: Tightening RFC 2822 msg-IDs2003-02-24 16:32:30I mention in passing that POP3 protocol's UIDL (RFC 1939, p. 12) provides for a UIDL consisting of characters in the range 0x21-0x7e (printable US-ASCII graphic characters) with a maximum length of 70. I further note that some POP3 server implementations use a message's msg-id as the UIDL, and some of those implementations do so even for msg-ids longer than 70 characters. N.B. I am NOT proposing any change to 2822 because of that.
