The main problem of your draft is that you can't publish it
1975 or maybe 1985.  In the real world today users would be
forced to use a non-emtpy From even if your draft is an RfC
updating numerous other RfCs.  But that won't update the
<joke> 4 billion </joke> pieces of software insisting on a
non-empty From.

What you really get is a new feature for new implementations
which nobody can use.  From: what(_at_)ever(_dot_)invalid hacks are ugly,
but users and UAs will learn to interpret it correctly without
killing some poor DNS root-servers.
