If you don't like STD 10 you could try to inform the RfC-editor
about your reservations.
I think you might find it useful to read RFC2821 again a bit
more carefully.
RfC 2821 is the bible of spammers, forgers, and worm authors,
it's a "worst common practice" if there ever was one. Trying
to fix a minor problem in STD 10 it got the routing examples
completely wrong.
