Popular MTA implementations (Sendmail, Postfix) do not implement the
Sender: header the way 822 and 2822 suggest, so even before you consider
mailing list managers you need to be very careful about RFC lawyering.
Microsoft MUAs present message headers in a way that works best if normal
messages do not have a Sender: field and mailing list messages do have one.
