RFC4871 is a body of specific text. Either one publishes replacements
for its text or one publishes a rule that can be used for replacing
text. The current Errata draft does the former. You want to do the
latter.
The latter invites one reader to apply the rule differently than
another reader. The former does not.
If what you would like is very specific text to be excised in exchange
for the text I have proposed, I would be happy to go that far. I
thought it had been obvious. However, I disagree with your conclusion.
Errata in general provide for that invitation simply on the basis that
they're not generally read.
