If we're going to demand that people change their working software, I have a whole lot of much more exciting things to propose.
As a matter of principle I don't think any changes to the DNS should be considered unless they entirely remove the original extensibility defects. I do not think the current proposals in DNSEXT achieve that. The extensibility model still depends on a centralized control point.
