I find the usage constantly confusing, espcially when trying to introduce
people to PGP.  It is an extremely unfortunate vocabulary choice, since it
takes an entrenched term from an entirely different part of the profession
and uses with a different meaning.  I've yet to understand why a more
typical term, like "record" or "segment" (yes, segment is used in datacom,
too, but it is more esoteric and therefore less confusing) or "block" or...

A minor point to consider, when pursuing standardization of an existing
technology, is what changes will improve the pedagogical aspects of the
specification.  Aligning language to fit more naturally in with normal
discourse is one such opportunity.
