Greetings again. As some of you may know, the MailConnect 3 event that is
coming up in a little more than a month has two focuses: IMAP 4 and
end-to-end security. Some people have told me that they didn't realize that
MailConnect 3 would help companies test interoperability of S/MIME and
PGP/MIME agents, so I thought I would send this message to the relevant
mailing lists for those two communities.
The MailConnect series of interoperability events lets vendors come and
freely test implementations, both shipping and pre-release, of products
that conform to one of the tested protocols. This is not a conformance
test, nor is it a press event. The main idea is to get all the significant
players into a room for two days so that they can try out whatever
features, extensions, and modules of their clients. There are also pull-out
sessions to discuss protocol issues, particularly if problems arise during
testing. We expect between 10 and 20 companies to participate in
MailConnect 3.
