it may also be an MTA's queue ID.
[Bruce:] If we're talking about architecture as designed, the Received field as 
defined in RFC 822 absolutely requires a msg-id, complete with local-part, '@', 
domain, and angle brackets.

The syntax element in the Message-ID field and in the Received field is defined as a msg-id, but the msg-id in the Received field and the msg-id in the Message-ID field aren't the same value.
