On today's Internet, are backup MXes still useful? Any decent mail
client should retry for at least a couple of days, and it's been a
very long time since my main MX was down for longer than that.
In the event of some sort of serious mail problem, such as a system crash,
I prefer to have all my queued mail on a host that I control. I can then
redirect it somewhere else, hold it for arbitrarily long periods, or play
other tricks with it.
