And example or two of that might help.

I assume we are aiming to not invalidate any URLs that
someone somewhere might have a dependency upon. And I
can't recall much else that exists on the RFC editor
web site, i.e. seems to me that most URLs to the RFC
editor site will have someone somewhere who's assumed
that the URL is "stable."
