I've noticed recently that my .catch archive is grabbing a bunch of
emails that should be in an archive. The reason for this is not a
mystery, it's related to having multiple aliases for a majordomo list...
e.g. mharc-users(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org,
mharc(_dot_)users(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org,
mharc_users(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org etc.
In this sort of instance, what do you (all of you) think the best way to
filter the emails would be? I had thought of filtering on the Sender
field, but I'm not sure if that would be consistent...it seems to be,
but I'm not certain.
In lists.def, you can specify multiple addresses for an archive. For
example, for the mhonarc-users archive on mhonarc.org, I have the
following lists.def settings:
Name: mhonarc-users
Description: MHonArc Users
Address: mhonarc-users(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org
Address: mhonarc(_at_)ncsa(_dot_)uiuc(_dot_)edu
Address: mhonarc(_at_)rosat(_dot_)mpe-garching(_dot_)mpg(_dot_)de
This is to handle the past addresses of the user list.
You can also specify regex patterns for an address. For example:
Address: (_dot_)*(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org
will match all messages sent to a mhonarc.org address.
But you should be careful in using regex patterns since you may match
and address you do not want matched.

To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo(_at_)mhonarc(_dot_)org with the
message text UNSUBSCRIBE MHARC-USERS
