I've prayed and prayed but I still keep getting this lock file error:

lockfile: Try praying, giving up on "/var/mail/ub.lock"
system /usr/local/bin/lockfile -l3600 -ml failed: 17664
I'm using qmail but I'm only trying to archive an older mbox style file
for now. How do I get past this error?
