Re: Problem downloading *.xls attachments

The usual cause of this problem is that the HTTP server is not
configured to announce .xls files as binary.

Do you have access to a copy of Lynx?  It has a command that will
send a HEAD request and tell you the headers straight off.

In any case, you should check what the server is putting in the
Content-Type: header in the HTTP reply whey people try to GET the
file.
