Thanks! That seems to be the problem. The path of perl that I was
referencing
was actually a wrapper instead of the absolute path to the location of perl.
Upon referencing the absolute path of the perl executable, the program runs
fine.

This likes the OS is not invoking perl to interpret the file. To
verify, try invoking mhonarc from perl directly; example:
% perl /path/to/mhonarc /home/sanjayr/Mail/Inbox
Note, when reporting a problem, please provide information as requested
in the README. This will help diagnose the problem.
