NEXTLINKIA/PREVLINKIA Usage?

Using <MultiPg> for indexes, I'm trying to get the Next and Previous
buttons to not show up when there isn't a Next or Previous index page.
I've tried several configurations of NEXTLINKIA/PREVLINKIA but don't
seem to be getting anywhere. I looked through the mailing list archive,
the FAQ and manual, with no luck. 

My configuration is:

<PrevPgLink chop>
[<A HREF="$PREVPG$">Prev Page</A>]
</PrevPgLink>
&nbsp;&nbsp;
<NextPgLink chop>
[<A HREF="$NEXTPG$">Next Page</A>]
</NextPgLink>

<NEXTLINKIA>
</NEXTLINKIA>

<PREVLINKIA>
</PREVLINKIA>

Using MHonArc2.2.0
