Hi,
We have recently added NIS support for MH, to enable us to use
multiple POP servers without having to run hesiod. The changes are
quite trivial and are made to 'inc' and 'msgchk' to query a NIS map in
the default domain if possible, before defaulting to the mtstailor
value for the pophost. These changes have been tested under SunOS
(4.1.1, 4.1.2) and IBM Rs6K's running AIX (3.1, 3.2).
The MH which we did this work on is:
version: MH 6.7.4a #1[UCI] (pai.its.rpi.edu) of Mon Oct 05 03:33:39 EDT 1992
options: [ATHENA] [ATTVIBUG] [ATZ] [BIND] [BSD42] [BSD43] [DBM] [DUMB]
[FOLDPROT='"0711"'] [ISI] [KPOP] [LOCKF] [MHE] [MHRC]
[MSGPROT='"0600"'] [NOMHSEQ] [OVERHEAD] [POP] [POP2]
[POPSERVICE='"kpop"'] [RPATHS] [RPOP] [SBACKUP='"#"'] [SENDMTS]
[SPRINTFTYPE=int] [SUN40] [SUN41] [TRANSARC_KAS]
[TYPESIG='void'] [TZNAME] [WP] [YP_LOOKUP] [ZONEINFO]
These changes are available if anyone is interested in them.
We would like to see them eventually integrated into the MH
distribution if possible, so that we do not have to make these changes
they to every new version of MH that is released.
Thanks,
-Shiva
