Hi, Richard. I've just encountered a couple of problems with using
"postproc: /.../spost" in .mh_profile:
[ SunOS client15.comlab 5.5.1 Generic sun4c sparc SUNW,Sun_4_40, nmh-0.17 ]
- it appears that it causes "Dcc" not to be honoured; I've done some
fairly thorough tests, and without the postproc line Dcc works as
expected, but with the postproc line it seems to be ignored and copied
verbatim into the sent message.
- it _completely_ changes the output format of "whom". Without the
postproc line, whom gives output something like:
-- Local Recipients --
harry
-- Network Recipients --
fred at no.where.org
whereas with the postproc line it gives:
fred(_at_)no(_dot_)where(_dot_)org(_dot_)(_dot_)(_dot_) deliverable:
mailer ether, host mail.comlab.ox.ac.uk, user fred(_at_)no(_dot_)where(_dot_)org
This has been causing merry havoc with my signatures, because the exmh
intelligent sig code expects output of the first form. Is this a new
nmh thing, or had I just not noticed it in my MH days?
I also suspect that it's having a strange effect on our sendmail header
rewriting here (causing my mail to go out from
"cjk(_at_)comlab(_dot_)ox(_dot_)ac(_dot_)uk"
instead of being rewritten to
"Chris(_dot_)Keane(_at_)comlab(_dot_)ox(_dot_)ac(_dot_)uk"), although I
don't have any further info on that.
Thanks,
Chris.
