In the meantime, I applaud the Joels' efforts to clean up two decades
Full credit to the other Joel. I don't think I've contributed anything
to CVS (yet). :)
I'm not sure why people think that these discussions are a waste of
time.
They're not a complete waste, but sometimes I think they're time unwisely
spent. With the power of various tools and languages being available,
some rapid prototyping and "mucking in" is often better than discussion.
It's very difficult, if not downright misguided, to discuss what is too
far outside current usage. Most issues don't make themselves known until
usage begins, IMHO.
