Do people actually use conflict(8) anymore? From the man page:
Conflict also checks for maildrops in /var/mail which do not belong to
a valid user. It assumes that no user name will start with â??.â??,
and
thus ignores files in /var/mail which begin with â??.â??. It also
checks
for entries in the group(5) file which do not belong to a valid user,
and for users who do not have a valid group number. In addition
dupliâ??
cate users and groups are noted.
I'm thinking that this hasn't been useful for at least a decade, and probably
longer. Can we get rid of it?
Looks like much of that is already done by 'pwck' and 'grpck'. And the
rest of it should also be part of a more general system config checker
rather than part of nmh.
