I frequently have corrupt .mh_sequences files, most likely due
to interaction between procmail (using rcvstore) and claws-mail
(which updates .mh_sequences, but seems to ignore rcvstore locks,
unsurprisingly).
I don't suppose you could get the developers of claws-mail to fix
that, could you? Ah, okay, I see that Steve Rader tried to get people
interested in improving the sequence support, and was basically told
"screw you hippie, it kills performance". Which I guess is why he
wrote MH-V :-)
To be fair, I think there was some chance that my fixes for good MH support
in Claws-Mail would have been adopted. But yeah, all my interactions about
enhancements seemed to have a "huh? you're a wacko hippie" understone.
My requirements where (are!) good MH support, complete configurable GTK+
key-bindings and "Exmh-style inc via procmail + rcvstore". I would have
had to add them myself. And that coding would have been more painful than
writing MH-V, which is in essence Exmh rewritten in perl curses.
Of course, in the end, Claws-Mail will never perform extremely well over
9600 baud or on an Android phone.
