But ... there is an uninstall target! It's included as part of Automake.
It even gets checked via "make distcheck", so it should work fine.
But you need to run taht with the *old* makefile, or it won'd clean up
the *old* destinations...
I'm only pointing out that the uninstall target does exist, and it's
actually tested. And if you build via git, it should be easy to go
back and use the "right" Makefile corresponding to the checked-out
version you're using.
