That is due to a different transformation, not decoding. By default

Are you sure? This message had both a text/pain and a corresponding
text/html part.

I'm sure. You can verify by adding -noreformat. The text/plain
part was not in a multipart/alternative with the text/html part,
so while it might correspond, there's no way for mhfixmsg to know
that for sure.

Normally I use the version of nmh that I get my Linux distro; at the
moment this is Fedora 23 -> nmh-1.6-3.fc23.x86_64 ; this installs
/etc/nmh/mhn.defaults ; which entry would be needed?

All I can see is:

      -> grep -i html /etc/nmh/mhn.defaults
      mhshow-suffix-text/html: .html

Yes, the Fedora configuration/installation doesn't pick up any
mhfixmsg entries for mhn.defaults. The right way to fix that would
be to add a package dependency, I'll look into that.

Thanks for all your help!!

Glad to. Thank you for your help to improve mhfixmsg!

David
