FYI. Note the last sentence. In fact, even the latest Internet Drafts
are a bit out of date. However, the latest versions of all of the
specifications have been posted here on PEM-DEV over the past few weeks.

Subject: Protocol Action: Privacy Enhanced Mail to Historic Standard
Recommendation:
The IESG recommends that the Privacy Enhanced Mail Protocols (PEM) as
defined in RFC 1113, 1114, and 1115 be moved to Historic Standard. The
PEM protocols as defined in these RFCs have been at Draft Standard
status for over two years and no longer reflect current practice.
This recommendation is made at the request of the Privacy Enhanced Mail
(PEM) Working Group of the IETF.
Rational:
There are no known implementations of PEM that are conformant with RFCs
1113, 1114, and 1115. Moreover, with heightened interest in PEM, a
number of newcomers are reading those specifications for the first time
without a clear understanding that these specifications are obsolete.
New specifications currently exist as Internet Drafts and are intended
to become Proposed Standards in the near term.
