As an outsider but early enthuiastic supporter of the PEM project, I have to say I am becoming more and more reminded of NSF's unlamented EXPRES program. It's been a **long** time, folks, and progress seems retrograde to us, the unwashed and uninitiated who merely want to protect our e-mail exchanges. Perhaps the project is nearly OBE, and when we can go buy a secure mail product from Apple or Microsoft it will have served its purpose and can be retired. -s
