some of the directory guys are certainly looking at pem. as ella gardner of
your organization will tell you, when i discovered that the differences between
the osi directory and pem crl definition i asked immediately what was going on.
nextUpdate should have been balloted into the curreent standard - it wasn't.

and its clear to me that something is certainly wrong with x.509 signed
sequence of sequence in the crl.

i am trying to fix it. one can approach the procedures of iso in two ways - use
them to justify what you can't do or use them to get something done. i am
trying the latter. i certainly don't want to get into comparisons about the
working styles of iso/ccitt (itu-tss) and the internet society.

i appreciate on line documentation. of course one should sign it to insure it
hasn't been mischievously modified (a creative way to get one's changes into a
standard). we have to get iso to stope considering the money it makes from the
sale of standards in its income plans.

i hope to be working on some of these issues in the next two weeks.

    hoyt
