Signatures downgraded???

Not so.  The judge is not interested in the Bob vs.  the Robert R.
Jueneman, the issue is whether the intent was there.  This whole thread
has gotten way beyond the expertise of the people involved and is not
producing infomation that can improve the standard or its
implementation.  Any expectation that you can limit liability by playing
around with the definitions can only serve to weaken the whole concept
of Digital Signature to the point where no one will trust it to mean
anything.

Oh Boy - You should look at the number of standards that exist and the
number that have been implemented.  The former far outweigh the latter.
