John, Authentication has a valid role, as I've said. That role does not warrant making it mandatory. Nor does it make sense for privacy to be optional in "Privacy Enhanced Mail". This is much more true when less desirable features are specified as required. I agree that ideally there would no stigma attached to a Persona. We've already seen that's not the way it will be.
