Well, actually, there are some mail packages which provide the capability such as first pass returns a complete header structure, for example, the c-client in IMAP2/3 package. I believe IMAP3 server can support MIME. But another issue comes out if we go with multipass approach. What is the 'standard' for header information. Different mailers have different header structures. Also, PEM should provide API rather than the executable programs. Nick
