I have two problems with S/MIME.
  1. It's being pushed by RSA.  If you agree with me that RSA is a 
     mouthpiece for NSA, then you can understand my problem with it.  

  2. Probably a trailer to number 1, but the symmetric key system used is
     DES, crackable by gov and determined crackers with the right equipment.

  I just can't believe the general public is going to be lulled into
accepting weak crypto.  No argument, in my opinion, is good enough to force
weak encryption.  If you want to catch someone that is using strong crypto
(PGP for example) then plant a camera over the keyboard, steal her secret
key and the master pass phrase to go with.  

It sure is hard to type when you are doubled over with laughter. Jim Bidzos is 
probably on his way to the hospital in convulsions by now, after reading No. 1. 
S/MIME arguably has a number of problems, but that surely isn't one of them!

Isn't there a minimum age limit for posting such purile nonsense to pem-dev?
