for background information on why in your ASCII software and
documentation you really should write 'quote' and not `quote' in the
Unicode age, i.e. why you should not abuse the Latin-1 grave accent as a
left quotation mark. The `quote' will look slightly ugly with modern
fonts, including the updated X fonts.
If you use any software that writes `quote', please submit to the author
a patch and point her to the above URL for background information. Thanks!
