FAQ? Formail undigestifying in format elm can't read

I'm just getting started with procmail but since the FAQ doesn't seem to
exist yet, I'm asking here.

I've tried undigestifying an email digest using the example in the
procmailrc man page ("formail +1 -ds cat >>whatever") but the "From "
lines in the output are a format that elm doesn't recognize as a legal
"From " line, so when I use elm to read the folder it still looks like one
big message.

Is there any workaround, other than using another mail program?
