formail and `-a Date:' ?

Hello,

Does anybody know how to do formail -a Date: "correctly"?
In otherwords how do you get formail to use the date from
the Date: field in the "From " lines it generates when
un-digestifying, but also format those "From " lines
correctly. 

I'm refering to the first paragraph in the "BUGS" section 
of the FORMAIL manpage which reads

BUGS
     When formail has to generate a leading `From ' line it  nor-
     mally  will  contain  the current date.  If formail is given
     the option `-a Date:', it will use the date from the `Date:'
     field  in  the  header (if present).  However, since formail
     copies it verbatim, the format will differ from that expect-
     ed by most mail readers.
