Many people have asked for ^FROM, but it has never made it in, and it

I'm (somewhat) new to the list, so what's the history behind the decision
not to include a ^FROM macro?
Basically, the line of thought is this:
- Checking if a mail went somewhere can be somewhat complicated because
there are several ways in which the target could be addressed. The
actual form depending on the person sending the mail (which can be many
different persons).
- Checking if a mail came from somewhere particular is not as difficult,
because there usually is only one person/program generating these
messages, and hence the format is very well predictable. So, it would
not be difficult to pick a particular expression that exactly matches this
one entity sending messages.
