This is my .forward:
I am using Red Hat Linux 3.0.3, procmail-3.10, sendmail-8.7.6.
You shouldn't need a .forward file for RedHat 3.0.3, as they use procmail
as the LDA. Verify that with
grep procmail /etc/sendmail.cf
When I do this I get:
Mlocal, P=/usr/bin/procmail, F=lsDFMAw5:/|@ShPfn, S=10/30, R=20/40,
A=procmail -a $h -d $u
What are the permissions on your .procmailrc file,
-rw-rw-r-- 1 djohnson djohnson 284 Oct 21 07:44 .procmailrc
and what error messages are you getting?
var/log/maillog was showing that the aliases.db was out of date,
so I did newaliases. I wanted to get a clearer picture of the
maillog, so I deleted it expecting it would be regenerated with
only the latest messages. But it was not regenerated.
(Send yourself mail with the -v switch to see what's up.)
I don't know how to do that. Sorry.
