Procmail, Unk Error 139, Diagnose? (fwd from USENET)

1997-01-31 10:06:34

I am surprised there isn't a single *procmail* newsgroup!!

How could the entire worldwide UNIX community live w/o Prock?! :]

FOR THE BRAVE, read on, and see if we can BEAT procmail! :]

My brother has been having a problem with procmail, though it is VERY
simply set up. If just ONE message generates core, then the next 6-7
do as well. I once found on his account a file with what appeared to
be an incorrect umask, or chmod. Here's the bounce in its entirety,
following what the core and .lockmail look like:

        -r-------- 1 leftwich users 1 Jan 23 14:49 .lockmail

I thought this should at least be created as chmod 600 no?

Also, I just did `strings ~leftwich/Mail/incoming/procmail.core |less -e`
and found that (I am guessing) the more "Received" lines there are in
headers, the more likely a crash. Here's a long example:
