Has anyone encountered a problem with mail in their INBOX ending with a
series (as much as 1K) of null bytes?
This has been happening to me periodically, with the result that the next
mail arriving can't be found by my mailer (and so I never see it). The
mailer expects the leading UNIX From line to start on its own line, not to
start somewhere in a line of 500 ^@'s.
I only discovered the problem when I attempted to print mail so afflicted
via the attached-to-ansi function in pine and it locked up my machine.
Otherwise I wouldn't have even known that I was missing mail.
Does anyone know what in my procmail filter could be causing this? I'd
like to fix it, but I don't know where to start.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair the existing
damage? I've discovered that sed can't recognize octal \000.
Thanks for your assistance.
