Yes, there is a manual page -- actually, four of them. Try `man
procmail' and when you've finished reading that you will have picked
up where to find the rest.
Historically, you had to use :n where n was the number of lines in the
following recipe. This was changed because it was cumbersome; today,
practically everyone uses :0. (To keep the syntax unambiguous, you
have to use a '*' at the beginning of each recipe line when using :0.)

The consensus seems to be that more than four lines is wasteful.
