Umm, it was resent so that it could get to you, no? If you're
wondering about the purpose of the header itself, their meaning has
gradually changed (some would say been clarified), and the current
thought is that thet are strictly informational, and not to be used by
the mail system in any way.
Or are you asking a different question?
