Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. I've sent full spam messages
(complete with full headers) to the following providers, and have
had very good results.
aol, prodigy, ibm.net, netcom.com, netcom.ca, geocities.com, and
many others.
All sites have sent me thank you letters (some of them
automated), and a lot of users accounts have been killed. I feel
great for contributing to ANTI-SPAM by doing this. I save all of
the "thankyou" notes from these sites if anyone cares to see
them. In the end, it all pays off IMHO.
I've been using SpamBouncer by Catherine A. Hampton, and you can get a copy
from http://www.best.com/~ariel/nospam/. There's two versions, one simply
sends spam to /dev/null, and the second automatically complains to the
appropriate addresses, complete with full headers, and the account usually
disappears in short order. :) In most cases I don't have to do anything,
since SpamBouncer is automatic.
