Generating the leading "From "

1997-06-12 16:02:00
I have an account on Patriot.net, and have recently run into some problems
with my mail on tis system.

The administrator tells me it is my fault for using my own version of
procmail, despite their using 3.10 and refusing to upgrade.

The specific problem is that either no "From " is generated, or a bad one
is upon delivery ("FFrom ").

For over a year I have been calling procmail from the .forward with the
-tf flags, and had no problem.

All messages that do NOT get the "From " are filed properly by procmail.
All those with the "FFrom " header get appended to the end of the last
message delivered.

For the past month my mother, who also uses patriot.net without procmail,
has been having problems downloading her e-mail with Eudora. When I check
her messages with elm, the problem messages also have the "FFrom " line.
Which leads me to beleive the admin is blowing smoke when he blaims my
using "an incorrect version of procmail" for my mail woes.

Is there somethig I can do to call procmail so that it will fix, or add,
the "From " line? I haad thought that was the purpose of the f flag, but
if so, its not working.
