Is there any procmail usenet groups available?
no but many procmail questions are asked and answered on comp.mail.misc
If not, wouldn't it be an idea to create it?
Well, it would technically be an idea, but I don't think a good one. The
only thing it would do would increase the spam and the addresses for the
spammers to harvest.
I wish more of the groups I followed were (closed) mailing lists rather than
open Usenet groups. It would be easier for me (get them delivered right to
my machine, even when on vacation) and I'd see far less spam.
This mailinglist has far to much traffic.
What is the basis of your judgment that it is too much? Are questions being
given too many responses? Are too many questions being asked? Is it
somehow interfering with your Internet connection due to the number of
messages posted?
Personally, I sort all the procmail mail into its own mailbox, so I never
really noticed.... Going back to May of 1996 I have almost 7000 messages (not
all were sent to the list, some I just put there as references). A quick
bit of math says 15 messages/day. The total size of the mailbox is 18megs
(well 140kb of that is Alan Stebben's procmail library).
I think that the list is available as a digest (am I right? anyone?) if that
would help at all...
