Greetings to all,
General
I have used Emacs a lot but it was until recently I started to
fight back against UBE email. couple of weeks ago I joined to this
wonderfull discussion list and I immediately started following the
pointers and code people handed to me.
Thank you for you all.
I also read the best.*gz and I though to compile a page that would
include best advice people have conributed in the past and
present. I don't know how much this new page will overlap to
existing faq pages, but I'm sure that Nancy, Era and me can decide
what topic should go to what page.
To: Era and Nancy
are you interested in converting you pages to TF format? I have
written Emacs minor modes and perl scripts to make the html
automatically out of simple text page. To convert you text files
into TF (Technical format) would only take 5-10 minutes.
What's TF format? Nothing special, you're looking it right now.
To: others
This is PREMILINARY page. I have just started and only included
35 of the total 700 pages(I use mpage with 4 pages per one A4)
from the best.gz. Expect to see lot of new code to appear
to page within next moths. You can access the new page via
http://cs.uta.fi/pub/ssjaaa/procm.html
This is a small University site, so don't be puzzled if you
can't access the URL. It just means that the ftp is overloaded,
try getting the .txt file via mail and print it to printer.
Text version is at the same location but with extension .txt. You
can also order the text page by sending me mail with subject
"send procm.txt"
If you have any corrections please send them in gnu diff -u format.
against the original .txt page
% cp procm.txt procm.txt.orig
% ... editing the file ...
% gdiff -u procm.txt.orig procm.txt > diff.txt
% cat diff.txt | mail jari(_dot_)aalto(_at_)poboxes(_dot_)com
If you have suggestions, topics to add, code to add, please mail
suggestions directly to me and I put it available with your name on
it.
Cheers!
jari
